Bringing together music industry folks and fans alike at The Tivoli in Brisbane for a night of celebrating what our state has to offer, the Queensland Music Awards are an ongoing testament to this musical talent.
The event boasted live music from a range of local acts including The Jungle Giants, The Trouble with Templeton, Violent Soho, Seja, Thelma Plum, Harmony James, Pigeon, BlaqCarrie and Chukale, all shining in the respective areas of music. Dominating the night however was one Emma Louise, who although was not in attendance won three major awards with her debut album vs Head vs Heart.
The late Purple Hearts frontman Mick Hadley was awarded the G.W. McLennan Lifetime Achievement Award and his wife graciously accepted the award on his behalf reveling in the support and love shown for her husband, admitting she first fell in love with his at the time “devil rock and roll music,” killer moves and tight pants. Queensland music is becoming an artistic powerhouse around the world and the QMA’s are all in the name of supporting the local music industry from the soul-sucking over produced vomit projected from our radios (I’m looking at you Miley).
